THE OUTRAGEOUS PRICE OF LAND

Finally, Mr. Fry, crown commissioner for the

Clarence River District, when asked whether

any land in the pastoral districts would sell for

5s. an acre, replies-” It is impossible to calcu-

late upon the amount of folly that may exist

in the community. Some might be sold, but I

am sure it would not pay.”
