ROBERT JENKINS- father of WILLIAM WARREN. ( see details in analysis of poem. IN MEMORIAM )

Robert appears in a number of articles in early SYDNEY GAZETTES. Robert Jenkins had an office in George Street Sydney in the years during which McNallys lived in Kent Street. He was on the board which started the Benevolent Society and on the Board of the Bank of NSW. In addition he shared rooms with and Board Memberships with JOHN HARRIS – the settler of Castlereagh who is on the Papers from the Colonial Secretary regarding the theft of the pigs in the early 1820s. Harris provisioned Patrick and his family while they were building the fence of the Glebe at Fulton’s Castlereagh House and waiting for said Fulton to release funds as payment.

This may well indicate earlier contact between Melinda and the Jenkins’ family than her Illawarra times. The Jenkins appear to be a philanthropic family .
